Innovation and quality in the production of DC/DC Converters

For over 40 years, synonymous with excellence in electronics technology with high quality and flexible solutions.

Elektra, based in South Tyrol, was founded in 1978 by Egon Reinstadler with the aim of developing high-quality DC/DC Converters with power ratings up to 500 watts. From the very beginning, the company focused on innovation, pushing the boundaries of technology to offer reliable, state-of-the-art solutions.

Initially, production was based on conventional PCBs, but with the arrival of low-cost competition from the Far East, Elektra was able to adapt, embracing hybrid technology on ceramic boards to maintain high quality standards and stand out in the market.

Through close cooperation with the development departments of numerous global companies, Elektra has established a solid international reputation over time. The company has become a trusted partner for long-term cooperation in highly specialised sectors, including industrial controls, automation, vehicles and transport, railways, and military electronics.

Today, the company is led by the second generation, under the direction of Wilhelm Reinstadler, who continues to invest in research and development to ensure ever more advanced and high-performance technologies.

In the 1980s, while much of Europe’s electronics production was being relocated to the Far East, Elektra chose to follow a different path: specialising in local production of the highest quality, focusing on flexibility and fast delivery times.

This vision led the company to invest in ceramic technology, progressively automating production processes to ensure greater precision and reliability. The first investments involved state-of-the-art machinery, including: SMD printer, firing furnace, laser trimming system, 2 Siemens P&P robots for automated assembly.

These technologies allow us to manufacture components with high quality standards and to respond quickly to our customers’ needs, while maintaining 100% European production and ensuring complete control over every stage of the process.

Why choose Elektra:
